Conveyancing Lawyer

We are a friendly, expanding and highly regarded law firm based in Enfield looking for an experienced solicitor or Legal Executive to join our successful firm. Primarily a residential property specialist you will have the ability to manage your own caseload and all aspects of sales and purchases, with the benefit of experienced and highly administrative support.

Duties include:

  • Undertaking and managing a caseload of sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties, new builds, shared ownership, help to buy, and right to buy transactions, as well as remortgages and transfers of equity.
  • Creating and maintaining lasting relationships with clients and third parties at all levels.
  • Having a thorough and detailed approach to work.
  • Undertaking and managing a caseload of sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties, new builds, shared ownership, help to buy, and right to buy transactions, as well as remortgages, lease extensions and transfers of equity and all ancillary matters including but not limited to the preparation of leasehold management packs and the drafting and negotiation of deed of covenant and licences.
  • Ensuring that the firm’s compliance procedures are followed including carrying out AML checks, verifying the identity of all clients and understanding client's source of funds and wealth.
  • Working with the other departments in the firm to support colleagues on matters that have residential property elements.
  • Creating and maintaining lasting relationships with clients and third parties at all levels.
  • Assisting with the firm’s business development plans, fostering and cultivating new business relationships which may include attending social and networking events.
  • Awareness of other services provided by the firm and the opportunities to cross-sell those services whenever it is appropriate to do so (e.g. advising clients of the benefits of making a will, particularly when purchasing property).
  • Having a thorough and detailed approach to work, utilising the firm’s case management system to store transactional correspondence and transactional documentation and recording of time spent on matters.
  • Ensuring, together with managers and partners, continuing professional development, including keeping abreast of developments in the law relating to residential property and completing the training required to maintain our accreditation within the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme.

You will have:

  • Excellent organisation, administration, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work with the team in an approachable manner.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.

In addition to having a strong team, we provide up-to-date technologies for document management, case handling and research and you will have the benefit of your own office and parking space.

The salary is competitive with an excellent bonus structure. The position is ideally suited for someone living in the north London area. We are positioned close to Enfield Chase train station and the amenities of Enfield Chase and Enfield Town.

Private Client Solicitor

A vacancy has arisen for a Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join our successful Private Client Department. Either a Private Client Lawyer (qualified solicitor or CILEX) with 2+ years PQE

The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration and will have the ability to deal with their own caseload. 

The Private Client team are dedicated to providing an outstanding service.

You will be required to carry out the client’s instructions in the most efficient and expedient way having regard to the firm’s professional and procedural standards

Duties include:-
Administration of Estates
Trusts
Inheritance Tax

Assisting with casework including dealing with a range of Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney cases including: Estate administration; Applying for and obtaining the grant of probate; Setting up trusts

  • Settling any tax liabilities and affairs
  • Tax planning would be advantageous
  • Dealing with correspondence
  • Maintaining accurate time costing procedures

Key Skills Required

  • Committed team player and adapt well to new challenges
  • Professional with a pro-active approach; excellent client care skills and ability to deal with client matters in a sensitive manner
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and sound judgement
  • Excellent IT Skills -familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills

Training Contracts
Occasionally, we are able to offer legal training contracts with our legal departments. When a vacancy arises we will advertise at the University of Law and in the Law Society Gazette inviting applicants to send their CV for consideration.
