Current Legal Vacancies
We are a progressive North London law firm located in Enfield Town close to the M25 and adjacent to Enfield Chase station. Our 8-partner firm provides legal advice to businesses and individuals. We are accredited with a number of organisations including: CQS, ISO, LawNet and Resolution.
We are seeking a legal cashier, following an internal reorganisation. You will ensure all day to day transactions across both client and office bank accounts are processed accurately, within appropriate deadlines and in line with SAR.
Duties will include checking and approving completion statements on all property transactions; logging, reviewing and allocating incoming client funds; inputting client payments and obtaining appropriate authorisation in advance of deadlines; banking of all client and office account cheques; processing all outgoing payments and generally assisting our Accounts Manager.
Candidates should have prior experience as a legal cashier, particularly regarding property completion work, and be able to demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines, show flexibility and prioritise workloads in a calm and consistent manner. Extensive and up to date knowledge of the Solicitor Account Rules and experience of legal accounting software is required, ideally SOS Connect.
TRAINEE SOLICITOR – PRIVATE CLIENT DEPARTMENT
We require an intelligent and self-motivated person wishing to complete their training contract in our vibrant private client department, with a view to progression within the firm.
You may have already started a training contract and wish to transfer. However, you will have previous qualifying experience, working within a private client department, dealing with the drafting of wills, LPA’s and estate work. You must be able to work independently, as well as part of a dynamic and forward thinking team. Energy and enthusiasm will be rewarded by high quality training and support in a full range and large caseload of private client work.
You must have strong keyboard skills, a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, and be capable of working under pressure in a busy legal office. Familiarity with specialist legal software (SOS Connect) would be a distinct advantage.
OFFICE JUNIOR (salary £12k-14k depending on experience)
We are seeking an Office Junior to assist the busy Administration and Accounts Departments, to start in mid August 2017. Duties will include photocopying and binding, handling the incoming and outgoing post, and covering reception, as well as dealing with archive files and documents. Accounts work will involve banking and processing cheques for signing and generally assisting our legal cashier and Accounts Manager.
Candidates must hold GCSE A-C in English and Maths as a minimum. You should be numerate, computer literate and able to work accurately under pressure. Prior experience of office work would be a distinct advantage.
TRAINEE SOLICITOR – FAMILY AND LITIGATION DEPARTMENT
We require an intelligent and self-motivated person wishing to complete their training contract in our vibrant litigation and family department; with a view to progression within the department.
Ideally, you will have already started a training contract and wish to transfer, or have previous qualifying experience, particularly in non-contentious work. You should be able to work independently, as well as part of a dynamic and forward thinking team. Energy and enthusiasm will be rewarded by high quality training and support.
Prior experience in Family law and/or Litigation would be an advantage, together with familiarity with specialist legal software (SOS Connect). However, the applicant must have good keyboard skills, a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, and be capable of working under pressure in a busy legal office.
Legal Training Contracts
Occasionally, we are able to offer legal training contracts with our legal departments. When a vacancy arises we will advertise at the University of Law and in the Law Society Gazette inviting applicants to send their CV for consideration.
There are currently no opportunities for work experience or shadowing.
