Philip joined Vanderpump & Sykes in 2004 after a successful career of over 30 years with a major High Street bank, where he enjoyed several senior management positions. Philip has overall responsibility for the Accounts and Administration Departments, including HR, IT and Marketing.
From banking to legal services … Philip initially joined the banking sector in 1969 as a holiday job and the rest, they say, is history. Time and effort invested (pardon the pun) saw Philip rise through the ranks to senior managerial status where many of his customers were professional firms. An opportunity arose to work in the legal industry, giving Philip the chance to see if the advice he had been giving for decades actually worked!
So what does your current role entail? Philip monitors the firm's financial performance and operations; directing the design and improvement of systems which support service delivery. Philip is also closely involved in developing and implementing the longer term goals and strategy of Vanderpump & Sykes.
Serial member or just wants to be loved? Philip is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, an Affiliate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a qualified business coach.
When he is not joining groups, Philip's main focus is time spent with his family – especially his 3 grandchildren, one of whom is severely disabled.
