Pre-nuptial

A prenuptial agreement is an agreement made before marriage, setting out how the assets and property of the married couple should be distributed if they divorce.

Prenuptial agreements are not legally binding as an enforceable contract by the Courts, but they may be considered as one factor amongst many, as a statement of intention. They are most likely to be taken into account when the marriage has been short, and there are no children.

We can prepare a prenuptial agreement for you if required. We also strongly recommend that if you are presented with a prenuptial agreement that your partner has drawn up, you take legal advice before you sign it.
