Stephen was admitted as a Solicitor in 1976. He took articles with the Greater London Council and stayed there after qualifying, dealing with a wide range of legal issues for that Council, and the Inner London Education Authority. Subsequently, he has worked in private practice in the City as an Assistant Solicitor with Kennedys and as a Partner in North London, the West End and Hertfordshire. Stephen has a wide range of commercial experience particularly in the area of Property Law.
Destination law. You need to be of a certain age to understand the inspiration behind Stephen's ascent into law! A fan of the Perry Mason television series, Stephen's quest was to find out the truth, saving client's liberty and life. Television drama aside, it was always the east end come Essex lad's game plan to pursue law.
It could have been a different story because Stephen was a budding athlete and sportsman of international standard; football and triple jump being his specialities until an injury relegated him to the spectator division.
A regular roadie, Stephen enjoys a plethora of music genre's such as folk, blues, jazz and 'Americano', frequently attending gigs up and down the country.
And a ladies man, Stephen has been married for 36 years, has a daughter (and son), three granddaughters, two female dogs and a female lodger. One to watch perhaps?!
There's more. Stephen's faith plays a prominent role in his life with church responsibilities including teaching the Sunday School 'Explorers' and 'Pathfinders' (9-11 year olds) and adults. A (quasi) carer to two elderly relatives, Stephen certainly makes a good career out of life.
