April 2008 - IHT Threshold Increase Reminder
As announced in the 2007 Budget, the threshold above which Inheritance Tax is payable on a deceased person's estate rises from £300,000 to £312,000 for the tax year 2008/2009. This becomes effective from 6th April 2008.
The threshold for 2009/2010 will be £325,000, followed by a further rise bringing the level to £350,000 for the tax year 2010/2011.
